A NEW YEAR'S CELEBRATION

Ring Out the old and ring in the new
with these holiday recipes

JANUARY 1986

Wonderful New Year's Eve --- the time when balloons, confetti, laughter, music, good friends, and loved ones combine for really great parties.  A time to share memories of the passing year and hopes for the new one.  And a prefect time to entertain and shine as a hostess --- in miniature, of course!
Start with a toast of margarita punch, which in reality is a concoction of tequila, triple sec, lemon and lime juice and club soda, served in frosty, salt-rimmed glasses. Easy-to-make Swedish meatballs and fried zucchini sticks are a savory addition to any party. Nacho is a Mexican snack consisting of corn tortillas smothered with melted cheese and red sauce.  Baked clams, with their crusty tops enclosing a filling chock full of succulent clam meat, are sure to make a hit.
As the New Year rolls in, let us raise our glasses in a toast to our world: May all your sorrows be miniature ones and may all your joys be --- MINIATURES!
