IRISH SODA BREAD

Tools and Materials
White sculpey
Yellow Fimo
Yellow corn meal
Amber glass stain
X-Acto knife
Miniature plate or basket
    Knead together a bit of yellow Fimo with white Sculpey to obtain pale yellow mixture.  Knead into this a good amount of yellow corn meal until you have a very coarsely textured mixture.  Break a piece off and roll into a ball about 5/8 inch in diameter.  Flatten ball slightly on flat surface.  Then, with X-Acto knife, cut a shallow cross on top of bread.  With back edge of X-Acto blade or fingernail, spread cut cross open to expose coarse texture of Fimo mixture.  (It may take several re-rollings and re-cuttings until you are

satisfied with the look of your bread.)  When satisfied, reshape sides of bread.  Bake in oven at 150 to 200 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes.  When cool, glaze with amber glass stain for a "just from the oven" look.
